Malaysian political leaders who gathered in Bosphorus, Istanbul, Turkey on 17th October 2015, urge all Malaysians to unite to save Malaysia from the divisive politics of race, religion, extremism and intolerance.
Malaysia is experiencing a ‘perfect storm’ of multiple crises hitting the nation at once in politics, economics, social and ethnic relations.
We call on Malaysians to unite to save Malaysia and ensure that Malaysia would not descend into chaos and hopelessness, and to rise from the crisis to be seen through democratic transition and to make Malaysia a model nation of moderation and tolerance for the world to emulate.
Our call also extends to UMNO and Barisan Nasional MPs who are crucial if meaningful changes were to happen in Parliament which begins its sitting from Monday 19th October 2015.
It is in this context that we welcome the historic gathering of minds of former rivals UMNO/Barisan Nasional veterans including Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Tan Sri Sanusi Junid, Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, Tun Ling Liong Sik and Tan Sri Ong Tee Keat.
We urge the veterans and other UMNO/Barisan Nasional leaders to take one step further to effect changes in the coming parliamentary sitting.
Bosphorus is a straits linking the continent of Europe and Asia. As such, Malaysian political leaders is gathered here with a new spirit and hope for Malaysia and for our nation to rise and be the beacon of hope on the world stage.
As a sovereign nation. Let us unite to save Malaysia on the spirit of National Principles:-
Belief in God;
Loyalty to King and Country;
Upholding the Constitution;
Rule of Law;
Good Behaviour and Morality.
