Dear Kuala Lumpurians,

I have been informed that there will be a second meeting for the Coalition to discuss the strategy of overcoming the abomination that is the Kuala Lumpur Draft Plan. Please please, all Residents Associations and concerned citizens attend this meeting!

It will be at:-

Location: Bangsar Sports Complex

Time: 8.30pm

Date: 4th June Wednesday

I hope as many RAs will be able to make it. And raise more awareness about the KL Draft Plan and how it will ruin our wonderful City.

How the Plan Effects You.

– The Plan is designed to fit another 600,000 persons into the already congested, at the point of bursting city of Kuala Lumpur.

– DBKL’s brilliant so-called town planners have decided this is possible by a few ways:-

-Increasing the population density in every area possible.

-Reducing even further what little green areas we have left in Kuala Lumpur. London has 4hectars of green open space for everything 1000 citizens. Malaysian law decrees we should have at least 2ha. Kuala Lumpur CURRENTLY has 0.68ha. The KL Draft Plan will reduce this to less than 0.35ha and that 0.35ha includes PRIVATE LAND that landowners do not build on. IE in reality DBKL will want to practically eliminate their responsibility in providing green lung for the city.

– Why we do not have the infrastructure to accomodate more persons:-

1. inadequate public transport

2. lack of space

3. lack of proper road planning

4. lack of proper town planning

5. lack of an accountable city hall to actually ensure Kuala Lumpur can grow sustainably
I hope that many can make it tonight! This concerns all of us!
