Program Overview
Education is the key to escaping the poverty trap for many Malaysians. Considering the prevalence of tuition as a tool to supplement school education, the success of a student often boils down to just how much access they have to such opportunities.
With this in mind, Penang Pintar was launched in collaboration with local education organisation Penggerak Komuniti Muda Pulau Pinang (PEKA) to provide free tuition for UPSR, PT3, and SPM students from low-income families. Penang Pintar also sends teachers to assist with supplementary classes in tahfiz schools within the Permatang Pauh constituency. Currently, 100 students are benefitting from our Penang Pintar education initiative.
